01 / The Dynamic Combat System

Make every
move matter.

Space combat should feel like space combat. In Fleets, you choose a target for each attacker, while your opponent weighs how to defend and when to risk a dodge. Your decisions shape both sides of the engagement.

A blazing star and luminous nebula fill a vast blue and orange starscape.
One battlefront. Decisions everywhere.

Attack. Defend.
Dare to dodge.

Choose the pressure

Attack.

Send an attacker at the opposing player or a specific eligible Vessel, Station, or Commander. Threaten their support. Challenge their strongest asset. Put pressure where it hurts.

Protect what matters

Defend.

Assign free Vessels or Commanders to protect a target under attack. Decide which threats to meet, which assets to cover, and how much of your battlefront to commit.

Take your chance

Dodge.

An eligible, undefended Vessel or Commander can attempt a dodge. Evade the hit, risk a punishing failure, or roll a critical result and strike back.

What makes dodging a gamble?
Success · 2 die faces

You evade the attack. Neither combatant deals combat damage to the other for that attack.

Failure · 3 die faces

The attacker deals its attack damage to your target, which deals no damage back.

Critical · 1 die face

Your target takes no damage and deals damage to the attacker equal to its own attack.

An exhausted Vessel or Commander cannot dodge. Stations and Utility Vessels cannot dodge. If a defender is assigned, neither that defender nor the protected target can dodge that attack. Card restrictions also apply.

02 / Built around your strategy

Your fleet.
Your signature.

Assemble the forces, technology, and turning points that make your plan work. Combine Vessels with influential Commanders, support Stations, and specialized Upgrades. Use Events to change the moment and Constants to shape the battle.

Whether you favor coordinated attacks, relentless pressure, patient development, or disruption, your fleet is where that strategy begins.

03 / A universe alive with detail

A galaxy with
something to lose.

Earth’s first contact arrives with a warning: the Wrathians are coming to harvest its water. Humanity’s fight to survive draws rival powers into a conflict that reaches far beyond one world.

Discover alien cultures, formidable Commanders, industrial outposts, and technology worth fighting for. Every Vessel has a purpose. Every faction has something at stake.

The further you venture,
the less certain your allies become.

Armored explorers confront a towering alien creature in a cavern lit by cyan and red light.
Beyond familiar space, survival takes a different shape.

Four factions. Competing futures.

A first look at the powers shaping the conflict.

A Human admiral addresses assembled cadets beneath blue and gold banners.

A world worth defending.

Rallied by first contact, humanity turns resolve into resistance. Coordinated Vessels, inspiring Commanders, and support Stations reward a fleet that fights together.

Nixians

Whose side are they really on?

The Nixians are playing both sides. They trade in secrets, exploit the conflict, and keep their true allegiance hidden. Disruption and unexpected returns make them difficult to predict.

The Reserve / Think beyond this turn

Build for the
turn after this one.

Activate your Resource cards’ resource-producing abilities to add resources to your Reserve. Spend them to deploy cards and pay resource costs—or keep them for what comes next.

Unspent resources stay in your Reserve across steps and turns until spent, unless an effect removes them.

Build toward a powerful play. Keep your options open. Decide when preparation becomes an advantage.

The next chapter is taking shape

The war evolves.
So does the story.

Fleets is being built around a continuing narrative. Future sets are planned to carry the consequences forward: changing Commanders, shifting alliances, and new technologies that reshape the conflict.
